My recent art is based around decision-making, short sightedness and temporality, specifically critiquing American culture and lifestyle. I construct installations and environments that provide a glimpse into the outcome of decisions based solely on the immediate gratification that we, as Americans, have grown accustomed to. Topics like healthcare, religion, drugs and political extremism are brought into focus in derisive and ironic ways through alternative and transformative spaces. My installations are meant to evoke a response that is similar to the way that scent triggers memory—I intend to conjure fundamental reactions from the viewer.
